Fans of Apple, time to rejoice! Apple is planning to launch an updated version of iPhone 5S, dubbed 5Se, that will perhaps have specifications of iPhone 6, says a news report.
Apple reportedly plans to launch the new iPhone 5Se with 4-inch display at an event in March, Se label stands for special edition. It is also expected that some new Apple watch models and iPad Air 3 will join 5Se during the launch.
According to reports, iPhone 5Se will borrow some features from iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. As for hardware, it will inherit some features from iPhone 6.
Talking about the camera, the new device will feature 8Mp rear and 12 Mp front cameras, which will deliver larger panoramas and autofocus for video recording. It will also bring the same A8 and M8 chips as in iPhone 6.
The updated version will arrive with some new features like a new NFC chip for Apple Pay and a barometer to track elevation in the Health app. The iPhone 5Se will also support Live Photos, a feature that is exclusively available on iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, and will come in space gray, rose-gold and silver color variants, according to reports.
The new phone will be powered with 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage and will replace its predecessor’s shiny edges with curved glass, as seen on iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. It will also come equipped with improved connectivity like faster Wi-Fi.
Some rumors also state that the new device will not boast much in terms of hardware innovations as compared to iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. It will not support 3D touch and fingerprint reader.
The cost of the upcoming iPhone is not yet available, but reports state that it is likely to hit something around $5oo.
