After launching its modular device G5 last year, LG will reportedly launch its next flagship G6 with Google Voice Assistant service. According to some recent reports, LG G6 to feature Google Voice Assistant service next month.
Currently, the only smartphones that are using Google Voice Assistant service are Google Pixel and Pixel XL. If reports are to be believed, G6 will become the first non-Google smartphone to receive Assistant.
It is being reported that the South Korean company LG Electronics agreed with Google last year to feature assistant. The company is in the last stage to stabilize the Google Voice Assistant service before revealing the model just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC). For those who’re not aware, the MWC is planned to take place from February 27 to March 3 in Barcelona.
iPhone already has its voice assistant Siri and Samsung is rumored to launch its own voice assistant AI Bixby. As per some reports, Google Voice Assistant service will be very helpful for the smartphone maker, especially when all other tech firms are showcasing their voice assistant feature. However, the major concern for LG is whether Google Voice Assistant will recognize the Korean language or not.
When asked about this issue, LG just said, “cannot confirm the speculation at the moment.” The tech giant Google also declined to comment on the matter at the moment.
According to some vague reports, LG G6 smartphone is expected to feature 5.7-inch QHD+ display as well as ‘heat pipes’ for better cooling as part of its efforts to strengthen the device’s safety. This technology reduces the processor’s temperature by some 6-10 percent by dissipating heat and preventing it from reaching the battery cell.
Moreover, the reports also suggest that LG has confirmed its presence at MWC 2017 where it is expected to host a press conference on February 26. So stay tuned with us for more details and to see if Google Assistant will indeed be a feature of LG’s next flagship device G6.
