Google makes it possible to identify different voices of people and offers personalized information to everyone with the help of their Google accounts. Now, you can easily add multiple Google accounts to Google Home, so everyone in the family can share a single device.
The company has updated Google Home to support multiple user accounts with personalization and neural network voice recognition. It can identify who’s speaking to it and give a response with that account’s info. When you say things like ‘what’s on my shopping list?’ or ‘give me an overview of my weekend’, it provides you with the custom details. Here’s how to add multiple Google accounts to Google Home
Step-1: Open the Google Home app and tap the devices icon at the top-right corner of screen
Step-2: Scroll down to get your Google Home in the list of devices
Step-3: Tap on the blue banner that says Multi-user is now available
In case your voice has yet to be recorded, Google will begin the process of identifying your voice. To make Google Home account, please make sure that you are present in the same room as your Google Home. It should be fairly quite so that Google can easily record your voice.
Step-4: You must say the phrases ‘Ok, Google’ and ‘Hey, Google’ a couple of times, so Google can recognize your voice patterns. It will recognize a recording of your voice to activate commands. If you’ll find that Google has not been able to detect your voice in future, you can retain it later
Step-5: Once Google Home has been updated, you’ll get a sample list of various commands you can use that are customized based on who is talking. For instance, if you say ‘OK Google, what’s my name?’, and it will let you know who it thinks you’re. While you add multiple accounts on Google Home, you can try this command to ensure it correctly identifies everyone in the house
Step-6: Tap Continue to move on
Step-7: Once done, Google will offer you to invite other users to do the similar process. Tap on the blue Invite icon if you would like to add multiple Google accounts to Google Home
You can send a link to your roommates or family members with your communication application of choice.
They’ll need to download the Google Home app and go through the similar setup process.
This way, you can easily add multiple Google accounts to Google Home. Ideally, it means that no one but you’ll get the information from your account unless your friends or family members can imitate your voice. In addition, Google does not enable Google Home to access private information that Google Assistant can access on other devices such as to read emails, reminders, or to create calendar events.
