What makes Snapchat so addicting is its assortment of eccentric lenses, filters, and stickers that you can use to customise your photos. However, every regular user isn’t aware of many of its constant changing features. Thence, we’ve put together a how-to guide to walk you through the basics of using Snapchat filters and lenses, as well as adding captions, emojis, and Bitmojis to your snaps. Let’s begin:
Use Snapchat Filters and Lenses
Snapchat filters allow you to change the color of your image same as on Instagram. You can even add info such as your location and weather to your photos. On the other hand, Snapchat lenses are augmented reality filters. You’ll usually find these on the selfie camera while some are available on the rear camera – within the app.
In order to use a Snapchat filter, you’ll need to take a photo on either of your phone’s camera and swipe to the left or the right once you’ve captured the picture. Now, you’ll see some of the photo filters available to you, including options to add the current time. Snapchat provides you different filters depending on whether you’re sharing an image or a movie. For instance, if you share a movie, the app lets you apply fast-forward and slow-motion effects.
When you swipe to the right, you’ll also see geofilters along with Snapchat filters and lenses. These overlays cover famous cities and locations. With the latest update, the biggest urban areas now have a filter of their own.

How to Apply a Second Snapchat Filter
Snapchat app lets you add double and triple layer filters to your images. To start layering your photos, first take your photo or video whatever you want. With one filter applied, tap and hold the screen, then swipe right, and add a second filter in your media file.
If you want to add another filter on top of that, repeat the above-mentioned steps again.
How to Use Snapchat Lenses
Snapchat comes with a hidden Lenses feature that you can use to add fun and a dynamic look to your videos and images. To use Snapchat lenses, hold down on your face when in the selfie mode. Afterward, tap in the middle of the screen until you see a series of white lines appear over your face.
Once the app recognizes your face, you’ll see Snapchat lenses at the bottom of the screen. All you need to do is just select a lens to apply on your image.

How to Use Snapchat Face Swap

A list of lens options will appear at the bottom of the screen. Just find the face swap option. It is a yellow icon with two smiley faces inside. Once it has enabled, find a friend or family member with whom you want to swap your face and align both of faces with the icons on the screen until they are both yellow. You can save it to your phone’s gallery app by tapping on a downward arrow in the bottom-left corner.
How to Use Bitmoji
Bitmoji is one of the Snapchat filters and lenses that allows you to add your own emoji to your snaps. First of all, download the Btmoji app for Android and iOS to create your own Bitmoji. Once you’re done with designing your emoji, tap on the Agree & Connect button to connect Snapchat and Bitmoji apps.
Now, scroll along within Snapchat filters and lenses to find the Bitmoji option and your new character will appear around the screen. You can even edit your Bitmoji at any time within the Snapchat app by tapping on the face in the top-left corner.
