Yu Yureka Black Review: The Checklist

  1. Yu Yureka Black Review: Design

Yu Yureka Black Review - Design

Yu Yureka Black comes with an all-metal unibody with a glossy touch, which definitely feels premium with an affordable price level. On the front, it is covered by 2.5D glass that gives it great look. There is a physical Home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor at the front, which has a chrome accent around it. The two capacitive buttons and the Home button at the center are placed below the screen. Along with this, there are two silver colored antenna lines, running across the top and bottom of the rear panel similar to antenna lines seen on many phones.

However, be careful while holding the Yureka phone as it is quite slippery. It’s difficult to handle it, especially with one hand as it tends to slip out of your hands. Overall, it does not offer anything new in terms of design but it does not disappoint either with its looks or aesthetics.

Yu Yureka Black Review - Display

As we’ve mentioned above that Yu Yureka Black has a 5-inch full HD IPS LCD screen that is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Scratch Resistant display. Apart from this, the 5-inch display of the smartphone has a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels at a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. The display is sharp, crisp, and clear with bright colors. Sunlight legibility and viewing angles are pretty decent; however, the display is weak in areas of color saturation and contrast.

Overall, the display of the smartphone is quite good considering its price and will not cause complaints.

The next point we’re going to discuss in Yu Yureka Black review is its camera quality. The smartphone has a 13MP rear camera with Video Recording, Auto Focus, and Digital Zoom. Along with this, there’s also an 8MP front camera with its LED flash.

Yu Yureka Black comes with a fingerprint sensor with a glass cover and a surrounding metal ring. Various filters included with the camera are Night mode, HDR, Superpixel, Sports, and Panorama. It softens facial textures a little bit but not enough to make them look unnatural.

  1. Yu Yureka Black Review: Performance

Yu Yureka Black Review - Performance

In terms of specifications and performance, the Yu smartphone runs on a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor similar to Lenovo K6 Power. It’s a dual SIM smartphone and connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, and Bluetooth. The fingerprint sensor on the smartphone is quite accurate and has a high success rate.

The smartphone offers Smart Action shortcuts like you can use three fingers to capture screenshots, lock the screen with a double tap, flip the phone to mute it, and much more. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow which came as a disappointment given that the OS version is two years old and Android O is about to come out.

  1. Yu Yureka Black Review: Battery

The next highlight in our Yu Yureka Black review is its battery life. The battery life of the smartphone is quite up to the mark. The smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh battery, which can deliver a battery life of around 12 hours. You can play games for over an hour on 30% charging and that too with high brightness.

Yu Televentures says that the smartphone’s battery can offer up to 24 hours of talk time with 2G and 21 hours with 3G.
