How to Manage Accounts in Mail App on iPad and iPhone

You don’t need a third-party app to make your mailing experience any better. In fact, there are a variety of things you can do with the mail app once you’ve set it up on your iPad or iPhone.   1. Set a Default Email Account

In order to set a default email account, you’ll have to use Contacts Menu:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPad or iPhone
  • Scroll Down and tap the Mail, Contacts, Calendar option
  • Tap Default Account under Contacts
  • From the screen that appears next, tap on the account you want to set as your default email account
  1. Switch between Email Accounts

Write your email in the message field of Mailbox and then select the account which you’d like to send the email from. This way, you can easily switch between multiple email accounts.

  • Launch the Mail app on your device
  • Tap on the Compose Icon (resembling paper and pen) at the bottom of the screen
  • Type your message
  • Now, tap on the From field in the address box
  • From the list of accounts that appear, tap the one you want to send your email from

  1. Set Different Per-account Email Signatures

You can also create a custom signature to appear automatically at the bottom of all outgoing email messages.

  • Head over to Per Account

  • Open the Mail app on your device
  • Tap the account from which you’re receiving your signature on your device
  • Open an email by tapping on it
  • Hold the HTML signature until selection tool shows up
  • Select and copy the complete signature

  • Return to the home screen and open Settings
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendar
  • Head over to Signature under Mail section
  • Delete the default signature using your keypad
  • Now, hold the empty field until the selection tool appears
  • Tap Paste to add your HTML Signature to the empty field. Once you’ve pasted the copied signature, your device will remove its formatting

  1. Disable an Email Account

  • Open Mail, Contacts, Calendar
  • Tap the account you’d like to disable
  • Toggle off the Mail option
  • You can anytime enable this account by sliding the toggle button again
  1. Delete an Email Account

  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendar
  • Go to the account name you wish to delete
  • Tap Delete Account
